Since 2005, Fitted for Work has transformed the lives of 6,500 women. As a not-for-profit organisation, its mission is to help women experiencing disadvantage get work and keep it. The Transition to Work Program is a six month job readiness program designed to support women experiencing social and economic disadvantage and multiple barriers to education and employment, in transitioning to sustainable employment.

The Inner North Community Foundation grant funds the mentor element of the program. The purpose of mentor support is to provide positive role models who can offer assistance and encouragement to enable Transition to Work participants to experience increased feelings of self-worth and accomplishment across all elements of the program.

Based in Darebin, this project supports 25 women aged 18-55 who are experiencing social and economic disadvantage, and unemployment. Thank you to the Portland House Foundation for supporting this project.
