Christmas, Consumerism and Cash to Our Community

As you succumb to the commercialism of the silly season and convince yourself that your frantic shopping is all in the name of injecting confidence back into our economy, you can ease your conscience a little by ordering your personalised Christmas Cards in support of the Inner North Community Foundation.

Visit www.ourcommunity.com.au/givingcard to order your personalised Christmas cards and nominate the Inner North Community Foundation as your “group of choice” to ensure that $1 from every card ordered goes towards supporting local community projects in our 2009 grant round.

Have You Got Ideas For Our Next Grant Round?

Preparations for our 2009 Pathways to Employment grant round are underway. We're talking to our 2008 grant recipients about their experience in our first grant round to ensure that our grants are structured to give projects the best chance of success. In 2009 we expect to have a larger pool of funds available for projects that assist young people to work. So we're keen to hear from the community about their needs and hopes. Please give us a call at 9481 9130.

New Kids on the Block

The September edition of the ourcommunity.com.au GrantMakers Quarterly ran a special feature on the creation of our Foundation. Read the article at our publications page.

Call to Action - Lentil As Anything

Lentil as Anything, a grant recipient of the Foundation, is counting the costs of a devastating fire that ripped through their Lygon St premises last week, just days before they were due to open. Lentil As Anything is a social enterprise that offers a safe and supportive environment to hundreds of people who have come to Australia as refugees, people who have experienced homelessness and people who are unable to secure work. Anyone who can support Lentil's refit with funds, furniture or labour are encouraged to contact Lentil on 03 8456 1262 or by email

Seven New Projects in the Inner North

Melbourne’s inner north is already buzzing, and it is about to become a whole lot busier. Seven new projects will kick off across the region giving over 100 young people a taste for jobs in a range of fields from broadcasting and event administration through to horticulture and hospitality. Our Pathways to Employment grants connect the talent of young people in our community with opportunities that are currently out of their reach. Meet the lucky recipients of our first ever grant round at our grants page .
