The inner northern region of Melbourne spans many suburbs from Richmond and Brunswick northwards to include Fawkner, Gowanbrae and Reservoir. The region epitomises modern Australia; 330,000 people from different cultures and backgrounds living together in a community where local talent is nurtured, differences are celebrated and expression is encouraged.
The Inner North Community Foundation seeks to ease the marginalisation experienced by sections of the local population by supporting initiatives that, for example:
- make employment pathways more accessible
- assist young people to develop new skills, confidence and networks to increase their employment prospects
- nurture opportunities for young people to apply their talents and energy towards creating their own enterprises.
