The Inner North Community Foundation Needs Your Help

The Inner North Community Foundation been working for more than 15 years to make our community a better place for all. We are now faced with the challenge of doing even more because the need in the community is not going away.

Are you the sort of person who likes a challenge? Do you want to see our local community become even better so that everyone gets a fair go? Do you have some spare time to help us?

There are three things we want to do this year. We want to …

  • Create a forum for funders and contributors to work together on community projects.
  • Develop a “product” for people and organisations who want to contribute regularly.
  • Tell the stories which bring our community together.

Are you still interested? If you have special skills in these areas, that’s great. If you don’t, come and learn with us.

We will provide direct support when you need it and guidance on what a good outcome looks like. All you need is energy, enthusiasm and about two hours a week.

We are looking for contributions not commitment – except to the idea of building a better future.

You can give us as many hours as you want and you can choose when and where you work.

There’s no pay, but there will be a great payoff!

Still interested? Then a bit more detail about what we think we need.

Community Builders Forum

We deal with many people and organisations who play an important role in building a better community. They include individuals and families, community groups, businesses, institutions and government. All of them play their own unique role and contribute money, know-how, ideas and their time and effort.

They all recognise that when they work together, they are far more effective.

We want to develop our forum where they can come together and grow this interest in their community. We have made a start and have a great group in our Northern Funders Network, but the idea needs to develop further.

Experience in managing a similar forum, a club, a professional or community group or in events management would be great.

If you join us on this journey, you will meet a lot of interesting and knowledgeable people. You create a “place” where people will come together to plan and work to create a better future – and that’s a genuine contribution!

The Giving “Product”

We are aware that there is keen interest in our community in a low-cost, simple way of becoming a funder of community building activities. This interest is being expressed by individuals, families, community groups and businesses. What they are looking for is a simple, inexpensive and tax-deductible way of making regular contributions to the things that they want to see change.

The Inner North Community foundation has a solution for this need, however, it is a diverse market which is difficult and expensive to reach. We will overcome this problem by delivering our solution to the market through the key influencers currently involved in financial decision making – lawyers, accountants and investment advisors.

If you want to join this project you will get the opportunity to develop a product that these influencers can offer their clients. We will provide you with all the details you will need.

Experience in marketing, product development, business to business marketing and services marketing would be great

We will support you to develop your marketing skills here, or learn the fundamentals of business-to-business marketing. This project is wanted, feasible and a winner! Join us.

Community Story Telling

Shared stories are what create communities. Stories of hardship activate people, stories of success stimulate people, stories of endeavour motivate people and stories of our shared history unite people.

There are so many stories throughout the inner north and we want to see more of them told in a way which moves people to come together in building a better community.

We have made a good start through our regular newsletter and forums where we give people the opportunity to tell their own story. We have a good list of partners, donors and not-for-profits to build on.

Can you tell a good, sensitive story? Do you want to try? There are plenty of stories to draw from.

Our community deserves to hear about what is being done, what has succeeded or failed, who is trying, why they are taking action and the stories of those looking for support and a way forward.

Experience in journalism, content production, copywriting, editing or as an author would be great.

Let us know if you think you can help or if you would like to give it a try.
