The Critical Steps Fund was established by Mary Crooks AO and Greg Meredith with a simple but powerful idea in mind.
About this fund
For many families across Australia, heading back to school is a time of excitement, new clothes, bags and packaged lunches. But there are families who struggle to make the budget stretch they are sadly forced to make difficult decisions between providing daily necessities for their children or school supplies. In a tough employment world, sometimes an act or material support can make all the difference for a young person to overcome barriers. It might just be a laptop or some help in reducing course fees or paying for books.
Mary and Greg created the Critical Steps Fund in the hope that more children can enjoy the support of the wider community in Yarra, Darebin and Moreland. Education is vital to helping break the cycle of poverty and disadvantage; so it is important that no child is left behind when it comes to learning.
You are invited to join with Mary and Greg and help build the Critical Steps Fund so that more young women and men can enjoy the support of our wider community of Yarra, Darebin and Moreland. Birthdays, other milestones and Christmas are great times when we can put some money into community initiatives of social value!
