2024 Fund Showcase

We were thrilled to recently bring people from across the north together to see for themselves how community organisations, supported by donors passionate about strengthening such groups, are creating value in our area.

The 34 MyFunds we currently manage support local community organisations to address such needs as breaking gender barriers, creating solutions to reducing waste, and connecting cohorts to organisations offering support, educational programs and events. Read our FY23 MyFunds Snapshot below.

This FY23 Snapshot provides an overview of community organisations creating value in many ways supported by donors passionate about strengthening community groups. We are so thankful for the opportunity to bring money to life in our community.

Held at Schoolhouse Studios in Coburg – a converted supermarket that now houses 60 artist studios – attendees heard from Marley and Henry, Merri-bek Youth Ambassadors, who reflected on how they had input into grants given last year by the Norm Anderson Young Peoples Fund.

Thank you to Inner North Community Foundation Director, Philippa Day, for facilitating this discussion around the impacts of the Norm Anderson Fund., which included a Joke Club for schoolchildren and new camping and wet weather equipment for Operation Newstart’s outdoor education program to re-engage young people with school.

We also heard about some other great initiatives happening in our area, including that:
> Open Table, a Schoolhouse Studios tenant, has turned its supermarket deli into a food rescue HQ – any financial, vlunteer or other contributions welcome.
> The Sydney Road Association is running the Brunswick Ball on 27 June, with a Wedding Singer theme!
> Throughout June, donations can be made to the 3CR radiothon to keep this amazing community resource going.
