Following the launch of the 2025 Inner North Report, a group of 30 local people recently gathered to wrestle with the question: How might we, as the inner north community, support people experiencing the consequences of homelessness?
This conversation led to a decision being made that a pool of $30,000 from different local groups will be allocated to potential ways to tackle the question, with two key ideas chosen through a participatory grantmaking process:
> Buy the Motel Feasibility: to scope a community bond model to purchase motels for transitional housing
> Lived Experience Advisory group: establish a small, paid advisory group of people with lived experience to guide local homelessness resources and council engagement
We look forward to keeping you updated.
